Events Messaging Flow

1. Sending messages based on events

Events encourage you to respond to your guests if anything new occurs. Messages are delivered according to the rules you can make. You can build different rules for each event, though you should stick to one requirement. It doesn’t make sense to send multiple reminders anytime an incident occurs, unless you have multiple listings, of course.

Smartbnb has four standard guidelines in place, and the prototype for each of these rules is both in French and English. It means that if the guest’s mother tongue is French, Smartbnb would be able to respond in French.

You can pick from a total of 27 languages. If you apply a prototype to a foreign language, Smartbnb will use Google Translate to translate your message into a new language. However, don’t expect too much from this function as there are errors still. Alternatively, you may have a native speaker to read your subjects.

You can also import stored messages directly from Airbnb. Simply pick the message you wish to copy from the drop-down menu, and the text will appear.

2. Sending questions-based messages

One of the most remarkable features that Smartbnb has to offer is that it can identify words in your guest’s messages and respond on the basis of those words. It’s a real time-saver and a nice piece of artificial intelligence.

Anyone can determine the question flow and prepare a response based on your models. The flow of questions will search for future items in all your guest messages. If a query is identified, Smartbnb can prepare a response that is consistent with the Events Flow.

To do this, simply apply rules to determine how you want to react based on the five keywords that Smartbnb will currently detect: deals, parking, Wi-Fi, infants, and pets. Just push the ‘Add Clause’ button to add a clause.

You should specify different responses based on the “level” of the discussion, i.e., where the (potential) guest is in the booking process. To explain this, assume that the guest sends a message containing the word “Wi-Fi.” If the guest has not yet booked, you will be able to reply by telling the guest that you have Wi-Fi and its pace.

However, if the guest has already reserved but not signed in, you might want to submit the site’s name and password. Finally, if it’s during your visitors’ visit, they may be reporting an internet problem, so you’d like to see what to do in case the internet doesn’t work.

3. Sending messages based on reservations

The Reservation Flow allows you to interact with your visitors before, after, and after their visit. It functions pretty much the same as the event stream. The only distinction is that the rules set out in this section are submitted after the guest has made the booking.

It is considered another time-saver, particularly for hosts with multiple listings: to post automated feedback. But this isn’t about everybody. A lot of hosts may choose to leave their personal ratings, and I think this is the preferred way to review your visitors. You may not always have time to leave a comment, though, or you may not have anything specific to say about your guest. In that case, leaving an automatic analysis is, by far, completely perfect. You can still opt to leave a manual comment if you prefer to use Smartbnb as a backup.

Why should you need this, you may be asking. Okay, if you know that there is an unresolved reservation, you should note the guest explain that they need to search for their ID and make them better. That way, there is a higher chance of the guest to finish their booking process as you advance more.

Checkpoint settings

Checkpoint has a few choices that you can choose from. You will define how long Smartbnb can wait before notifying you of an unresolved reservation. The explanation you may want to put in a slight pause is that a guest will often complete the authentication process very fast, even before receiving and reading an e-mail. It could not be evident if the guest reads the e-mail after the booking has been made.

You may also limit the message to new conversations. You might even contact the client if the client has told you before beginning the booking process.


The final feature of Smartbnb helps you shield your listing from prying eyes: it will unlist your listing for a few hours, then re-list it when you are most likely to see prospective visitors. Think of it as opening hours for your listing!

In my view, this is the least helpful of Smartbnb’s elements. It only serves to protect people who list unlawfully to want to keep them from being caught. I’m not sure how much stealth mode this risk will eliminate.


Smartbnb is a powerful tool. It saves time and improves your Airbnb performance, mainly if you are a full-time host with multiple listings. For part-time hosts, it might make sense based on how often you’re hosting. If you’re just hosting a handful of times a month, the app won’t benefit you too much.

It’s not the cheapest tool that provides this sort of service on the market, but when it comes to automating so much of the hosting process with so much on the line, you do not mind spending extra for the sake of your guests and business.
